Our story began in 2020, yes, the Covid years. They did not socially distance or refrain from meeting new, strange people. Fortunately, they both bypassed those guidelines. The new, strange people in question ended up being the love of each of their lives. After meeting in college, Ashley and Kyle spent two years surviving long distance, each being states away from each other. Filled with weekend trips and airplane rides, the years passed. In 2023, Kyle started his PhD at UNC Chapel Hill. In 2024, Ashley followed. She packed her car and said goodbye to both of their hometowns in Tampa Bay.

Kyle and Ashley celebrated their fifth anniversary together this past October, the 21st, with a visit to Cafe Luna in North Carolina, close to the home they share in Chapel Hill. They are delighted for this homecoming to solidify the bond that they have shared these past five years, to see their families, and to welcome new and old friends to celebrate in their union.
